PHP States
Just wrote and used this little snippet. Thought I'd post it for when I need it again.
<?php
$states = array(
"AL","AK","AZ","AR","CA",
"CO","CT","DE","DC","FL",
"GA","HI","ID","IL","IN",
"IA","KS","KY","LA","ME",
"MD","MA","MI","MN","MS",
"MO","MT","NE","NV","NH",
"NJ","NM","NY","NC","ND",
"OH","OK","OR","PA","RI",
"SC","SD","TN","TX","UT",
"VT","VA","WA","WV","WI",
"WY");
?>
An example usage, as if it isn't obvious.
<?php
print "<select name='states'>";
foreach($states as $state)
{
print "
<option "
.(($row['prospect_state'] == $state) ? "selected=\"selected\" " : "").
"value=\"$state\">$state</option>";
}
print "</select>";
?>
In case it's unfamiliar to you, the (($row['prospect_state'] == $state) ? "selected=\"selected\" " : "")
is called the ternary operator, also known as "fancy little if/else".
